FishPAC CONTRIBUTIONS ARE ESSENTIAL

Why contribute to the CDFU FishPac?
Cordova District Fishermen United needs to be active where it matters most: at the tables where decisions are made. We must exert a significant influence on state commercial, sports and subsistence fisheries management, policy and regulation as well as on proposed legislation. We must address a wide range of issues including forest practices, water quality, funding for the departments of Fish and Game and seafood marketing and most importantly we work to assure access to the fisheries for commercial fishermen in Prince William Sound. We will be allowed a seat at these decision-making tables only if we insure that we have allies at the head of these tables. Assuring access to the fisheries for commercial users ultimately depends on getting people into public offices that understand the importance of the seafood industry to Alaska’s economy. Getting commercial fish friendly people into those offices means being able to offer financial support to their campaigns as well as individual votes during elections.

Become politically active: contribute to FishPAC and vote for PAC supported candidates. Even small contributions can make a big difference.

CONTRIBUTION INFORMATION

Only individuals can contribute to FishPAC. Corporate contributions are prohibited. If your fishing business is incorporated, you cannot write a business check - you must write a personal check. FishPAC can accept contributions from sole proprietorship business accounts, but the business name must contain the words “sole propretorship”.

ALASKA RESIDENTS: You can contribute any amount, however donations over $500
require you to fill out an Alaska Public Offices Commission form. The CDFU FishPac will provide you this form when you make your contribution.

NON-RESIDENTS: You can contribute any amount, however non-resident contributions can not total more than 10% of total contributions. Any check drawn on an out of State bank will be considered a non-resident contribution. Any portion of non-resident
contributions that are above the 10% maximum before dispursing campaign contributions will be returned to non-resident contributors.
